Stage 4 Cervical Cancer
Stage 4 cervical cancer the most severe form has advanced beyond the cervix to surrounding tissues or organs and cryosurgery rather than cryotherapy may be performed.
The FIGO system classifies this condition into four basic periods, labeled 0 through 4.
The 4th period is the most advanced. The tumor spreads to organs located near the cervix, such as the bladder or rectum and other parts of the body far from the cervix.

The lower the staging, the better the person’s prognosis. This condition is determined by information that is obtained through: biopsy and the pathology reports, cystoscopy, abdominal ultrasound, computer tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. These methods determine the tumor’s size, depth of penetration, and spread within or beyond the cervix.
