Cervical Cancer Tests
Additional cervical cancer tests may be urged for human papilloma virus if ASCUS is determined.
To prevent the cells from ever becoming malignant tumors, the FDA has approved automatic HPV DNA testing of women 30 years or older. This is considered preventative medicine. It will determine if women are carrying high-risk strains of HPV even if their Paps have been normal. Without regular tests women will not know about possible threats to their health.

Cervical Cancer Tests -
Human Papilloma Virus, ASCUS
The nature and cause of cancerous cells of the cervix is determined through a Pap smear. After initial abnormal cells are found, further testing must be done to determine the stage of the disorder. A colposcopy and biopsy of the tissue in question is taken and tested for its origin through HPV DNA testing. Additional cervical cancer tests may be urged for human papilloma virus if ASCUS is determined.
