Cervical Cancer Hysterectomy
Recovering cervical cancer hysterectomy patients run a risk of developing urethritis or urinary infection without appropriate care.
During the procedure the womb, all the tissues, holding the womb, the top of the vagina, all the lymph nodes around the womb (and ovaries, if the patient is past the menopause) will be removed. If the patient has not have the menopause, it may be possible to leave the ovaries.

This is quite a big operation to make sure that all the cancerous tissues have gone. You will be in hospital for about a week and recovering at home afterwards for at least another month or so.
