Bleeding Cervix
If there is unusual bleeding, cervix should be examined for cervical dysplasia, lesions, and other conditions and treated using cryosurgery or other means.
Irregular spotting is a possible symptom of menstrual dysfunction, fluctuating hormone level, vaginitis (a common and treatable infection), vulvar varicosities (dilation and irritation of the veins in vulva), cancer of the uterus, cervix, or vagina, some std, injury, complications from pregnancy, etc.

Spotting of small amount of blood between periods or very heavy periods, lasting for weeks at a time may have different causes. In premenopausal women light spotting a couple of days before the period is common and not worrisome. Birth control pills may cause spotting the first few months. If there is unusual bleeding, cervix should be examined for cervical dysplasia, lesions, and other conditions and treated using cryosurgery or other means.
